Hello and welcome to the Bidibots Parents Portal.
I know for most of you, your journey to the Special Care Nursery or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is an unexpected one.
Everything happens so fast to make sure your baby is getting the best medical care possible but as parents that can leave you feeling so overwhelmed, frightened and alone.
But if I can give you one piece of advice it is to trust in the professionals looking after your baby.
The doctors and nursing staff know what they are doing. Your baby will be constantly monitored and you will be kept up to date at all times.
As well as being the CEO of Bidibots I have been a neonatal nurse for more than 20 years and I understand what you are going through.
Seeing your baby covered in leads and hooked up to a ventilator can be terrifying. But let me reassure you, all the medial equipment has a purpose and is there to help your baby.
I know right now all you want to do is hold your baby but it might not be safe to do so. Trust the nurses they know what you are going through too. They will let you hold your baby as soon as possible and will always encourage you to do so when the time is right.
The Bidibots Parents Portal has been designed just for you. I get what you are going through and I know this information is going to help.
Here you will find information that will help you understand the dynamics of the NICU. You can access this portal anytime you like by using the user name and password that has been emailed to you.
For the dads, I recommend you read through some of the stories Bidibots dads have shared. This can be a really tough time for you as well and I hope by reading through other dad’s experiences it will give you some encouragement.
If you have any questions about the care of your baby always ask the nursing staff at your hospital.
I hope you find this information helpful in your journey through the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or Special Care Nursery and I wish you all the best.
Bye for now.
